If I have one piece of advice for soon to be president Donald J. Trump, it would be to set a new precedent for fiscal conservatism. Past conservative presidents like Reagan did a good job loosening regulation and cutting taxes, but Reagan didn’t cut spending to the tune of his tax cuts which in turn blew out the deficit. If Trump can accomplish truly conservative fiscal policies, then he cannot blow out the deficit with keeping or even adding more spending to what budget he will inherit from soon to be former president Barack Obama (sigh of relief).
