Trump has been active in the Twitter game lately, with tweets suggesting he’d slap taxes on imports from Toyota, among other companies, for products produced outside of the United States.
Some are suggesting that Trump’s strategy is not as anti-free trade as one might think. He’s really just using tariffs as bargaining chips to create fairer, freer trade deals.
Now, like the article suggests, this strategy could backfire and set off a trade war. And that would be the worst of all possible worlds.
In other news, the left thinks Obama was really really really great.
At least Trump has a very low bar to be a better president than Obama. But, as the leader of the Republican Party, he has to be held to a higher standard than that, right?
